On June 27, 2017, the cooperation between Manolo Blahnik and Preciosa blossomed into an unveiling of a pair of handmade Bohemian-inspired boots at the Preciosa Flagship Store in Prague.
Shared Bohemian heritage
Paying tribute to his Bohemian heritage, Blahnik’s stiletto-heeled boots celebrate craftsmanship, precision and authenticity – values both Preciosa and Blahnik proudly share. Boasting a net worth of €5,000, the one-of-a-kind “Manolos” are embellished with fuchsia pompoms and more than 100 Preciosa crystal chandelier trimmings to commemorate Mr Blahnik’s forthcoming Prague instalment of The Art of Shoes. The boots will remain on permanent display in our Flagship Store in Prague, Rytířská 29 until November 12, 2017.
In addition to more than 50 media, esteemed business partners and VIP’s who attended the exclusive event was the Czech supermodel and philanthropist, Tereza Maxová, to unveil the bespoke pair. Thematically inspired by Bohemian folklore, the ceremony also boasted a performance by the Czech Ballet, who danced to Bedřich Smetana’s Prodaná nevěsta – Mr Blahnik’s favourite.
Blahnik’s Art of Shoes to spellbind Prague
Alongside the boots, an original Manolo Blahnik design for a limited edition of 20 Bohemian-inspired pairs of the iconic Hangisi jewelled buckle pump, featuring hand-made Czech lace and Preciosa crystals, was also revealed. Sold by appointment only, each pair will be individually tailored to its wearer.
A tribute to his life’s work, Manolo Blahnik’s most comprehensive exhibition to date, The Art of Shoes, will open at Museum Kampa in Prague on Friday, August 11th and remain on display until Sunday, November 12.
