New Generation of Door Lock Technology installed by innovative hotel

EAST, Miami, the first hotel venture in North America from Swire Hotels’ up and coming EAST brand, has decided to add innovative new door lock technology to its property.

This cutting-edge technology is ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s New VingCard Essence door locks and Visionline locking solution. It marks another key innovation to the EAST, Miami property, which is located atop the Brickell City Centre in Miami. ASSA ABLOY Hospitality was thrilled to debut this product in December of 2016, and EAST Miami marks one of the most notable hotels in the industry to deploy it.

This technology includes features such as mobile access compatability, wireless online capabilities, and secured Seos technology, and many industry experts say they believe that this type of door lock will likely become an industry standard in the future. Guests at EAST Miami will be some of the first to use and benefit from the increased efficiency provided by this tech.

Combined with Visiononline, the New VingCard Essence allows the EAST, Miami staff to remotely monitor and also to control who has direct access to which guestrooms, and when they have that access as well. The ability to do this adds another layer of security functions that will limit breaches and immediately address any sort of related security issues guests may experience.

In a statement announcing the use of this technology at the hotel, Mihai Bote, CHTP Director of Technology at East, Miami, said, “ASSA ABLOY Hospitality not only brought this innovation to the table for us with the New VingCard Essence door lock, but also provided us with a solution that gives us access to real-time lock events on our property, monitored from one central location.”

This is not the first collaboration between EAST, Miami and ASSA ABLOY Hospitality. The company previously installed the first generation of the VingCard Essence lock at the EAST, Miami hotel. Following that effort, the executive team of the hotel decided to move forward with the latest iteration of the door lock technology.

“ASSA ABLOY Hospitality’s strong customer support, well-known reputation, years of experience, proven track record and long standing service to the hospitality industry are highly valuable to us,” Bote said. “Whatever needs we had, were taken care of quickly and efficiently, and we are already seeing improvements and increases in guest satisfaction following the installation.”

The hotel has also announced plans to launch the New VingCard Essence locks with mobile device-based access functionality to all of its guests through an app soon.

ASSA ABLOY Hospitality has installed its products in 42,000 properties across the globe, providing secure and innovative ways to keep guests safe in more than 7 million hotel rooms. It is part of the ASSA ABLOY Group, a publicly-listed company.
